CRAZY WEATHER SLOWS DOWN OUR ACADEMY SQUAD.
January 21, 2022AL FORSAN ULUCKY FOR OUR DRIVERS.
April 5, 2022The Rotax Max Challenge 2021-2022 Round 5-6 has been held in a very prestigious venue: Yas Marina Circuit. As per tradition the Abu Dhabi F1 circuit has hosted the Rotax driver into his amazing track granting a very high level of competition on track and pushing the drivers to show their best driving skills. As usual our team joined the event with a 4 drivers line up which included Harry Hannam, Sofia Necchi, Reaan Dharmadasa and the new entry Marc Bassier. The Swiss Junior driver, after a first half of the season with the Al Ain Raceway support has decided to join our team until the end of the season to boost his performances. The YAS event was a double header one so all the drivers were very focus to score as much points as possible to climb the overall standings. In the Mini category, the kid from Sri Lanka Reaan (first time at Yas for him) managed to grab a P7 in the Round 5 Final after some good fight on track improving his pace in the Round 6 but scoring only a P10 in the Final after being taking out by another driver when he was in fight for the TOP 5. In the hyper competitive Junior category very unlucky week end for Harry Hannam who scored only a P5 in the Round 6 Final and being DSQ in the Round 5 Final. Unfortunately for the UK driver this double header has been very disappointing with some crashes and the DSQ which have pulled you out from the fight for the Junior 2021-2022 title. For Sofia Necchi the double event has not been pretty good with not exactly the pace that she would have had and a P10 and P14 in the two Final. For the new comer Marc Bassier the debut on the YAS track has been, instead, pretty good with a good pace shown especially in the Round 6 and P14 and P15 in the two Finals.
Paolo Necchi (Team Principal): “It’s been a very tough and disappointing week end. Harry lost 2 podiums and Sofia and Reaan did not scored points are per their potential. That’s racing and we need to accept it even if it’s difficult to swallow. We lost many points for the Junior Championship standing and now it will be very tough to fight for the title. By the way we are happy for the performance of our new driver Marc who has a good potential despite is rookie status in the category.“
