O PLATE 2023: FAST BUT….
January 30, 2023SAD VICTORY FOR DHARMADASA AT AL FORSAN
March 30, 2023The Round 5 of the RMC UAE Challange 2022-2023 took place in one of the most iconicm motorsport venue in the world: Yas Marina. The F1 track that usually crowns the world champion in the most important series around the world opened its gates to the Rotax UAE series hosting almost 100 drivers. Between them 5 our drivers drove along this amazing track dreaming a future in F1. Reaan Dharmadasa and Jeffrey Tachajian have been surrounded by 3 new “rookie” like Riccardo Pieroni, Lujza Trskova and Lorenzo Turchetto. For the experienced driver from Sri Lanka YAS Marina hasn’t been extremely satisfying due to some set up issues that kept the driver far from the TOP 5 positions, usually belonging to him. Jeffrey made a big step forward compared the two races in Dubai winning the Novice category in the Round 5.1 (second in the 5.2) and setting some very good lap times. For the 3 rookies Lujza, Riccardo and Lorenzo everything was brand new as they were all of them making the debut in the series and in this specific track. For all of them anyway a very good pace shown during the whole week end with a great improvement on their lap times.
Overall a satisfying week end with a bit of bitter taste for the missed podium of Dharmadasa.
Paolo Necchi (Team Principal): ” In this event we had 3 total rookie in the field and I am very happy about their results. I am but upset for the results we scored in Mini with Reaan as we worked a to over the whole week end but we just didn’t find our usual pace. Now we want to move quickly forward to the next race in Al Forsan as we are sti fighting for the second spot in the Mini standing.”
