DHARMADASA GOOD DEBUT IN THE IAME SERIES ITALY
July 29, 2022DHARMADASA IMPRESSIVE DRIVING IN THE RMC INVITATIONAL RACE.
October 4, 2022Very great start of the season for our team and our drivers!! In the first round of DAMC organized ny Dubai Kartdrome and Al Ain raceway our 4 drivers were very quick and have fought for the top positions of their own categories. With almost 50 drivers in 4 category, Dubai Kartdrome has been a very challenging field for most of them especially for the high temperatures.
In the Mini category the driver from Sri Lanka Reaan Dharmadasa after winning the first heat and fiinishing P3 in the second one, got the chance to start from pole in the Final. After the lights went out he got unfortunately stuck behind a driver who got the lead thanks to a jump start blocking our driver in the first 2 laps. This situation allowed other two drivers to overtake him forcing him to have to be satisfied of a final P3 overall.
In the Junior category (almost 20 entries) the swiss driver Marc Bassier had a very bad luck in the first two heats being involved with no fault in two crashes which pulled him back in the last position. Both a great racing attitude a very great pace Marc tried hard to come back showing some very fast laps. In the Final after a fantastic start he kept fighting for the TOP 10 ending P9 but a front fairing penalty after the race kicked him back to P14.
In the Senior category amazing race for our flying lady Sofia Necchi P2 in her first ever Senior race after two P3 scored in the Heats. Second fastest as best lap time Sofia will be for sure one of the top drivers in the category during the upcoming RMC season.Impressing result for a “rookie” in the category.
Last but not least Edwin Sandborg (DD2) after scoring twice P4 in the category in the heats made a little mistake during the final hitting the tyres and scoring a DNF. By the way the swiss driver has been quicker and quicker session by session being always more confident in his go kart and dropping pretty much his lap time.
Paolo Necchi (Team Principal): “We are happy for the overall week end but we are a bit sorry for the bad luck that “stopped” Edwin and Marc. The first race of the new season with the new Vega tyres has been challenging for every body but we found immediately a good race with all the drivers. I am very happy for the podiums scored by Reaan and Sofia who both really deserved these results. Now let’s move on and get ready for the RMC Invitational Race coming up in two weeks.’
Our team will now start to get ready for the next week testing days in Al Ain.
