MAIDEN VICTORY FOR KART ADVISOR ACADEMY.
November 11, 2021YAS MARINA BITTERSWEET FOR KART ADVISOR ACADEMY
February 7, 2022Last week end our team faced one of the most confusing racing weekend ever seen in UAE. Due to a very uncommon weather conditions, the entire RD4 Rotax Max Challenge UAE has been seriously compromised. After a smooth Saturday spent at Dubai Kartdrome, plenty of great fightings on track during the heats, Sunday has been very much effected by the rain that fell down in an “ON and OFF” mode for the entire day. On this crazy conditions our driver tried their best to achieve good results putting a lot of effort during their heats.
The 12 yrs old new comer from UK Joshua Smith shown a very good pace (despite some engine problems) during the heats fighting hard against his opponents scoring a P4-P8 and P9 (5sec penalty). Unfortunately for him the Final did not happened and his racing week end ended earlier then expected.
Harry Hannam had a very unlucky start of the week end with a technical issue during qualy we forced him to start all the 3 hears from the 10th row of the grid. Despite this massive handicap Harry pushed as always to the limit showing two incredible comebacks from P20 to P5. In one heat he has been involved in a crash with his team mate Sofia who got fitted by another driver ending into Harry. For him another incredible comeback after the crash from last to P17. In the Final, starting from P8 Harry manage to get very close to the podium ending P4 a very intense race.
For the flying lady Sofia Necchi this week end has been really frustrating. A double crash in the heats (1 and 3) and an electrical problem in the Final pulled her out from the top positions. So far the racing season of the Italian driver has been really plenty of bad luck but her attitude is still postive and she looks forward the next round at YAS.
Reaan Dharmadasa performed very well scoring a P5, P3 and P2 during the 3 heats. Unfortunately for him at the very start of the Final the rain start again and in a close contact at the start of the first lap a spit pulled him back in the field. As the race has been stopped at the second lap he scored only a P8 position, very far from the result he really deserved.
During the week end we also provided our engine to Steve Tracey who made his debut in the Rotax series improving his pace trough out the event.
Onto the next one: O Plate 2022.
Paolo Necchi (Team Principal): I am not happy about the overall week end results. We made some mistakes and the weather has effected too much our plans. By the way we should have been easily on the podium in Junior, Mini and Micro as all the drivers had the skills and the pace to do it. We learnt and we will work harder for the next one in YAS”.
